Question:
As-Salamu Aleykum,
I have a question regarding whether it is permissible to sell impermissible objects to disbelievers. I’ve read that whatever is haram to use or consume then it is haram for it to be sold too as it is helping for a munkar. But I also heard Sheikh Al-Albani rahimahu Allah saying about how to get rid of the TV: “let him destroy it or sell it to a disbeliever.” Also, in Sahih Muslim 2068a Umar sold a silk garment to a disbeliever. But in the other hand, pork isn’t permissible to be sold, and alcohol too. So it’s quite confused for me, which haram products we can sell to disbelievers and which ones we can’t? If it’s forbidden then what are the exceptions? Do they depend on the product or the situation?
