My plans for the next year

Italians are probably the most planning-oriented people I’ve ever met: journals, goals, planners, year-long plans...

From my very first classes in a school in Turin, I noticed this about them. Since then, I’ve been planning everything myself.

2025 is no exception. What plans I have for Durov Run?

We’re already brainstorming what new elements to add to the story campaign.

⭐️ Gameplay Changes
Some gameplay changes are planned to enhance your overall gaming experience.

⭐️ Expanding the Store
The current items in the store are far from everything that will be available for purchase. We’re planning to add new items.

3 principles by which I live

Everyone defines their own values to guide their life.

Since my early school years in Italy, I have thought deeply about the aspects of life and how I want to spend each day.

I’ve identified three core values that I still live by today. I’d like to share them with you:

⭐️ Trust Your Instincts
If you feel you're on the right path, don't pay attention to the opinions of others.

⭐️ Solitude Is More Valuable Than Socializing
An hour spent alone is more beneficial than a week of conversations.

⭐️ Anything Can Be Done Quickly
I developed the first version of VKontakte in just one month in 2006, and it worked right away.

Contrary to popular belief, tasks are either done quickly and well, or slowly and poorly.

Of course, over my journey, I’ve highlighted many more insights for myself. I think I’ll write about them another time… 🤔

Seeing 2024 off with a smile

Every year is a breakthrough for me, but 2024 is truly special. My team and I achieved something we've been working toward for so long.

🪙 Namely — the release of Durov Run and the story campaign.

The Story Campaign is particularly meaningful to me because it allows me to play through it and reflect on the long and challenging journey I’ve been through.

Developing VKontakte, the early struggles, the successes, the obstacles...

We designed this mode as «a chance to walk through Pavel Durov's life journey», and we succeeded.

What if everything wasn’t so complicated?

At the beginning of my journey, when I was creating VKontakte, I had to work alone, coding for 20 hours a day.

After re-reading my journal, my team and I released a story mode where you can follow Pavel Durov's path.

I wish it were like that in life...

Getting popularity in life is not an easy process.

To be honest, when I was working on VKontakte for some time, I wanted to just buy this popularity. However - you can't do that :(

But I often like to reflect on PavelX in parallel universes - what if I had "bought" popularity then...?

The key factor to the success of your IT empire

In the story campaign Durov Run, as in life, the key factor to the success of your product is popularity.

Except that the ways to get it are different...

If in life I had to invent a wall in VKontakte, in Durov Run only 1 run is enough for the first popularity.

🧩 And what is popularity?
It's the main currency you'll need on your journey.

It is earned, unlike life, passively - when you upgrade some cards. The higher the level - the more.

⛏ It grows even when you are offline (but no more than 3 hours). When you return to the game, you can claim the earned popularity.

You can also use Stars to double your earned popularity. Don't tell this anyone, deal? 🤭

I've had a lot of things happen on my path.....

A lot of things have happened on my way from an ordinary PavelX student to the owner of the most popular messenger.

Like the recent arrest in Paris....

That's why I didn't want the new story campaign in Durov Run to be straightforward, so we added events.

🗓️ What are they?
Events will affect the development of your IT empire.

They happen when you pump cards: when some aspect reaches, for example, level 3, an event happens.

What can happen? There are 3 options:

You get a popularity bonus and additional resources.

📊 PR campaign
Your projects grow, along with passive income.

🧩 Competition
Well, where is without difficulties, which I had as well. Sometimes you will have to fight with your competitors, for the good of your empire.
