The young participants in the dialogue said that climate change and environmental hazards are detrimental to the well-being and future of children. They raised issues such as disaster preparedness, environmental degradation, biodiversity loss, air pollution, alternative energy sources and offered the exact solutions to the problems.
Avazkhon Khaydarov, Deputy Director of the NGO "Ecologist", called on young people to actively participate in the eco-volunteer movement and invited Uzbekistan to become a driver for the association of youth in Central Asia. To do this, the Public Association "Ecologist" made two main offers:
1) Opening of the department "Youth eco-volunteers" at the NGO "Ecolog" in each region";
2) Holding the Central Asian competition for the best eco-project among youth "Ecoton".
At the event, the youth also emphasized the importance of recognizing the collective responsibility and responsibility to protect the rights of children in the context of climate change. They noted the need to take measures to eliminate all factors that hinder the full realization of the rights of children to a clean and safe environment for present and future generations.
