Some insights for 2024-2025 application season
1) Always apply to Ivies
You don't know what will happen at the end of the day, so it is better to try your luck. Do not procrastinate and write your supplemental essays.
2) Start crafting your Common App essay as soon as possible
Brainstorm ideas, write what comes to your mind, and craft different versions of your Personal Statement.
3) Create your College List in summer (June-July)
Research universities for your needs. Useful websites: https://collegescorecard.ed.gov/

4) Use two websites to apply
Apply through Common app and Scoir. If a college is listed on both platforms, use Scoir. In the opposite scenario use Common App (as it allows to apply to 20 colleges max).
5) Always check application portals
Some colleges email you about missing documents, but there are some institutions which do not notify you about them. So, it is a good idea to check application portals every 2-3 days to ensure that your application is complete.
6) Apply for Financial Aid on time
If you miss the deadline for CSS profile submission, the institution might not accept it and you will not receive any aid.
