I remember being a kid and the January sales starting on 1st January and you’d save all your money to get some bargains. As I got a bit older, those sales started starting on Boxing Day. Now the sales all start before Christmas and they’re here this year already, with some of my favourite shops starting their sales last week. I wonder why this is. Is it because they start selling Christmas stuff earlier so people are sick of it by now? Or because people are struggling and the shops have too much stock? Or is it because big companies like Amazon are taking so much of the market share that the smaller shops are struggling? Anybody got any theories?
