International Spring School
“Neuroscience Tutorials on Research Assets and Common Trends”
Introduction
Emerged from numerous brain storming sessions at Tehran University of Medical Sciences, NeuroTRACT spring school tends to provide interested students in the field of Neuroscience with tools that can help them pick the optimum path to answer their research questions in this field informatively. These tools are meant to be presented in the format of trend neuroscience methods, including Imaging techniques, Animal based tests, psychological assessments and a number of required theoretical materials on the issue.
NeuroTRACT Annual international schools are designed to provide an 8 day long training course. Combined with social and cultural exchange events, the program aims to bring up an alluring integration of fun and team based learning while attaining the necessary knowledge and hopefully skills for elaborating participants’ research questions and help them take some steps toward answering their questions.
During this course, you will be guided to compose a proposal in your team, and we will provide a one year follow up to make sure your projects will brighten up the scientific community with a novel publication.
In order to enjoy the fresh spring and lovely atmosphere of Tehran as well, especially for international students, the program will be held form March 29th to April 5th 2019, which is the second week of Iranian’s New Year holiday, providing a great opportunity to explore Tehran at its best.
Although we do not press background restrictions, the school initially targets students with some level of research skills. Everyone is welcome to register, though your level of background will be considered for the final evaluation.

Program Structure & Details
In order to provide a multidimensional setting to attain our targeted skills and facilitate the executive aspects of the school, we are honored to be walking in cooperation with a number of national and international experienced organizations in the field. Following you will find a brief introduction towards these cooperations.
NeuroTRACT is one of the many projects run by Neuropsychology Association (NPA) at Students’ Scientific Research Center of the Tehran University of Medical Sciences (TUMS).
The accommodation has been gladly facilitated by the dormitory of Tehran University of Medical Sciences (TUMS).
The ice breaking ceremony will also be held at Exceptional Talent Development Center (ETDC) building of the TUMS.
First day of the school is dedicated to developing and defining the research questions in form of Brain storming and Group organizing sessions that will lead to developing concept maps. This event will be gratefully guided by senior medical students of the TUMS.
The Imaging Techniques session will be held with the supervision of Neuroimaging and Analysis Group (NIAG) at Imam Khomeini Hospital Complex. The basics of structural and functional MRI will be covered. Also we will visit the facilities of the National Brain Mapping Lab of Iran.
Psychology devision is honored to be supervised by Proffesor Philip G. Zimbardo, professor emeritus of social psychology at Stanford University, who will as well certify the “By Stander Effect” and “Mindsets” workshops.
Animal Studies are going to be held at the animal laboratories of TUMS. The animal ethics session will be proudly held by Doctors without Borders corporation (MSF: Médecins Sans Frontières).
And last but not the least, since we have always highly valued the seducing mixture of fun based leaning, we have gladly dedicated two half days to city tours. Also we will be having the closing ceremony and gala dinner at the ninth day of the program, where you will as well receive your certificates of participation.
