📰 POLYTECH THIS WEEK

What’s happening at SPbPU? Here are three stories worth knowing about.

🇮🇳 New horizons for cooperation with India
SPbPU welcomed a delegation from Lovely Professional University. The universities discussed new joint educational programs, summer and winter schools, and opportunities for expanding academic and scientific cooperation.

🌍 The Russian-African Network University launches its second Olympiad season
SPbPU is a key co-organizer and coordinator of the RAFU consortium. The new season aims to attract talented students from African countries to Russian universities and strengthen scientific and educational ties.

🇨🇳 SPbPU and Xiangtan University develop joint educational programs
Another step toward expanding international academic cooperation and creating new opportunities for students.

Three stories. One Polytech. 🌎

Which one would you like us to tell you more about?

🇮🇳 Big news! We hosted a delegation from India's Lovely Professional University (LPU)

The guests checked out our Supercomputer Center, toured the campus, and sat down for some serious talks. 🤝

What's on the table?
🔹 Joint educational programs
🔹 Our summer/winter schools (40+ courses across 6 fields!)
🔹 Research internships with international certificates

The numbers speak for themselves: 6 joint monographs (Scopus), multiple research papers, and 6 of our professors now have visiting professor status at LPU. 📚

This October, our team heads to India for LPU's global summit. And this fall? We're launching pilot student exchanges and new research projects.

From individual projects to full-scale integration — that's the plan. More updates coming soon! 🔥

🚆 AI, TRAINS, AND CHINA: HOW POLYTECH IS TRANSFORMING RAILWAYS

Our faculty from the Graduate School of Cyber‑Physical Systems visited Lanzhou Jiaotong University (China). They came back not with souvenirs — but with papers in top journals, guest lectures, and a new grant.

Chinese partners invited Polytech experts as top minds. Together, they're building an intelligent railway infrastructure management network.

In plain English: AI learns to predict when rails, sleepers, or bearings are about to fail. Earlier detection = safer rides. Smarter maintenance = cheaper railways.

Papers are already out in Applied Sciences, Applied Intelligence, and IEEE Sensors Journal — on neural networks, bearing fault diagnosis, and track settlement prediction. Serious stuff.

Now the best part for students — joint PhD programs. Chinese Polytech PhD student Guo Chenxi is already working on a shared research topic between both universities. He's a living bridge between Russia and China.

MEET OUR BEAUTIFUL GRADUATES 🎓✨

Diplomas — checked. Smiles — priceless.
The future — wide open.

So proud of you all! ❤️

Good morning! Admin is almost awake... ☕️😴 How are we feeling today?

Since it’s the middle of summer, I have to ask: What’s the move for September?
Are you heading back to the books for another year of studies, or are you officially done with the school life and ready for the "real world"?

Write your thoughts in the comments! 👇

🔥 YOU DEFINITELY DIDN'T KNOW THIS.

SPbPU scientists just watched nanocrystals grow inside glass in real time — for the first time ever. No magic, just physics and a smart optical trick.

X‑rays used to be useless here: tiny crystals got lost in the glass haze. But our team tracked them via their optical "fingerprint" — from 7 to 12 nanometers. That's 10,000 times thinner than a hair!

Why? To build ultra‑bright LEDs and lasers. The catch: perovskites degrade in air. But sealed inside glass, they're bulletproof. And now we can control their size — and therefore their glow color.

This isn't sci‑fi. This is Polytech. And the next breakthrough? That could be you.

🧡 On June 20, @tutorforcespoly took international students on a trip to Kronstadt!

They visited the "300 Years of Kronstadt" monument, made wishes at the Wishing Tree, explored one of Russia's oldest maritime libraries, and played a true/false game near St. Nicholas Naval Cathedral. The day ended at a scenic pier with views of real ships.

The international students were truly fascinated by Russian history and architecture. Huge thanks to our tutors for an unforgettable day! 📷

Today #вОбъективеВремени — girls at the entrance to the Main Building, which at that time was under renovation. If you look closely, on the scaffolding you can see a simple and very kind wish:
«Good luck to you, applicant!»

Agree, more than 40 years have passed, and the warmth of these words is felt today. Especially now, when our university is preparing to welcome new students 💚
