Israel’s airstrikes on Iran have disrupted efforts to end the Gaza war, shifting global focus to a potential regional conflict: a French-Saudi summit for Palestinian statehood was postponed, stalling ceasefire talks.

Israel may be deflecting Gaza criticism, as pressure from allies like the Netherlands and Germany has eased. Gaza’s humanitarian crisis worsens, with 1.9 million displaced and 1.8 million facing food insecurity, exacerbated by halted aid.

This escalation between Iran and Israel has thrust President Donald Trump into a complex diplomatic and political maelstrom.

Trump initially prioritized diplomacy, warning Israel against strikes to preserve nuclear negotiations with Iran. After Israel's June 12, 2025, strikes on Iranian nuclear and military sites, he endorsed the operation, claiming full awareness and calling it "very successful."

He warned Iran, stating:
'I gave Iran many chances to make a deal, but they just couldn’t get there. Now their leaders are all DEAD now. They should make a deal before there is nothing left.'

Though Secretary of State Rubio called the strikes unilateral, Trump’s prior knowledge and U.S. military support, like Iron Dome replenishment, imply tacit approval.

Despite U.S. claims of no direct role, the scale of Israel’s attack suggests coordination.

This exchange of strikes between Iran and Israel, set against a backdrop of regional instability, has heightened fears of a broader Middle East conflict with profound global implications.

International reactions reflect the complexity of the situation. President Trump, who had prior knowledge of 3/4 Israel’s plans, urged Iran to negotiate, warning that continued conflict could devastate what he called “the Iranian Empire”. The U.S., alongside the UK, France, and Jordan, assisted Israel by intercepting Iranian drones, reinforcing Western support for Israel’s defense.

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and French President Emmanuel Macron called for restraint, warning of “ripple effects” across the region, including ongoing conflicts in Gaza, Israeli operations against Hezbollah in Lebanon, and Houthi attacks in the Persian Gulf.

Israeli strikes on Iran today targeted a wide range of sites, including nuclear facilities, military headquarters, and industrial plants, with significant impacts reported. The strikes hit key locations like Tehran, Natanz, Isfahan, and Tabriz, with damage to nuclear and military infrastructure. Casualties included over 78 killed and 329+ injured, with notable figures like IRGC commanders among the dead.

In Tehran, key military targets were hit, with explosions near senior commanders' residences and damage to residential areas. Nuclear sites in Natanz and Isfahan were also struck, with Natanz's Pilot Fuel Enrichment Plant destroyed and Isfahan's Nuclear Technology Center damaged. In Tabriz, the airport and IRGC missile launch sites were targeted, and strikes in Kermanshah destroyed an ammunition depot and underground missile facility.

Iran denies some of the reported hits, highlights the effectiveness of its air defenses, and is preparing a retaliation. The economy is severely impacted.

The escalation between Israel and Iran, occurring amidst U.S.-Iran nuclear negotiations, has not only heightened tensions in the Middle East but also sparked a notable political rift in the United States.

Tucker Carlson has publicly criticized Trump’s backing of Israel’s actions, accusing the U.S. of being “complicit” in an act of war and warning of the potential for an “all-out war” in the region. In Carlson’s newsletter, titled “This Could Be the Final Newsletter Before All-Out War,” he argued that U.S. military aid to Israel, which Trump boasted about on Truth Social, makes the U.S. complicit in Israel’s actions. He labeled supporters of U.S. involvement as “warmongers” pushing for a conflict that could cost American lives and resources.

While traditional Republicans view Israel’s actions as a necessary defense against Iran’s nuclear threat, Carlson’s isolationist perspective challenges the bipartisan consensus on U.S. support for Israel.

Iran launched overnight strikes on Israel, claiming hits on military bases, three airfields, and nuclear sites. Only Ha Kirya’s IDF HQ was confirmed hit, with 60+ injured in Ramat Gan. Israel’s air defenses held strong.

Drones from Lebanon, Iraq, and Yemen flopped, showing weak proxies. Hezbollah’s clout is fading; Ansarallah’s attacks are mere additions.

Tehran’s bold claims lack impact, while Israel pounds Iran’s oil refineries, signaling a multi-day op. Oil prices may spike further.

A much more interesting development is the official IDF statement about intercepting a new wave of missiles.
In the past hour, dozens of missiles have been launched from Iran toward the State of Israel. Some of the missiles were intercepted.

At present, search and rescue teams are operating in several locations across the country where reports of missile impacts have been received.

Previously, “most” of the missiles were shot down, and the media reported a 97% interception rate. Now, only “some” have been intercepted.

U.S. Steel and Japan’s Nippon Steel have received the green light from the Trump administration to finalize their merger, after agreeing to invest $11 billion in the U.S. and granting the government a “golden share” for national security oversight.

The companies say all regulatory hurdles have now been cleared, with U.S. Steel stock jumping 5% on the news. The deal was previously blocked by the Biden administration, but Trump’s move signals a dramatic policy shift.

This decision not only secures billions in investment but also reasserts America’s leverage in global industry—demonstrating the difference strong leadership can make for U.S. jobs and strategic assets.

Mossad flaunts footage supposedly showing commandos operating inside Iran

Video shows partially blurred black and white night vision footage of commandos crouching in a desert, purportedly somewhere inside Iran, mixed with overhead shots of drones’ targeting cams of an Iranian air defense system, radar and Scud-type missile launcher.

Previously, a security source told Israel’s Channel 12 that besides the use of up to 200 aircraft during its overnight strikes, Israel used drones launched from inside Iran to target the country’s defenses.

Iran’s repeated threats to close the Strait of Hormuz in response to Israeli strikes have already caused a 15% spike in oil prices, shaking global energy markets. The strait is not only a critical chokepoint for 20% of the world’s oil and LNG trade, but also Iran’s main export route, generating 65% of its budget revenue—making a full blockade self-defeating for Tehran.

China, as the largest buyer of Iranian oil (accounting for 75% of exports), would likely exert heavy pressure on Iran to avoid any disruption, using both diplomatic and economic leverage. Meanwhile, Houthi-led “soft blockades” in the Red Sea—using drones, missiles, and mines—have already cut Suez Canal shipping by 40–50%, raising insurance costs and forcing reroutes via the Cape of Good Hope.

Iran understands the risks of direct action, but will continue to exploit uncertainty by combining proxy attacks and strategic ambiguity. This approach allows Tehran to pressure Western economies while limiting damage to its own fragile finances.

The recent attack on Iran led to the elimination of several influential military and political figures, prompting an immediate reshuffle in the country’s leadership. Supreme Leader Khamenei quickly appointed Mohammad Pakpour as IRGC Commander, Abdolrahim Mousavi as Chief of Staff, and Ali Shadmani as head of Hatef al-Anbiya. Ahmad Vahidi, a former defense minister under Ahmadinejad and interior minister under Raisi, is also expected to take on a key role.

All new appointees are loyal, low-profile functionaries focused on stability and executing Khamenei’s directives. The removal of figures like Ali Shamkhani, once a powerful economic and military player, underscores the ongoing purge of independent actors and potential rivals within the system.

Earlier, reformist figures such as Mohammad Javad Zarif and Abdolnaser Hemmati were also pushed out of the political scene. With these changes, Khamenei’s inner circle now dominates Iran’s power structure, especially following Raisi’s death.

Iranian ballistic missile launchers have appeared in Hamadan, Hormozgan, and Fars provinces, signaling preparations for a potential strike.

Despite this, Iran’s actions remain cautious and slow—likely due to fears of Israeli drone attacks and the risk of detonations during deployment. If Tehran truly intended to escalate, more active measures would have been underway already.

Iran’s command structure, shaped by Syrian experience, is resilient but not immune. While tactical links and underground bunkers provide some stability, the main constraint remains political will, not technical capability.

Satellite images reveal the aftermath of a strike on Iran’s Natanz uranium enrichment facility. Visual assessment suggests the damage is not critical, likely because Israeli efforts are currently focused elsewhere.

Notably, there’s been a drastic reduction in Iranian air defense activity, likely to secure Israeli aviation and target Iranian military command structures—evident from precision strikes on top generals.

Strikes have now begun on Persian Gulf port infrastructure, including Bushehr. If attacks continue, Bandar Abbas—vital to Iran’s economy—could be next. The pressure on Iran’s strategic assets is mounting, highlighting its vulnerability to coordinated Western-aligned operations.

Israel’s strikes on Iran’s nuclear sites, targeting Natanz and military assets, have spiked oil prices 7.8% to $74.77/barrel and gold to $3,423.30/oz, signaling market fears of escalation. Iran’s vowed retaliation risks closing the Strait of Hormuz, disrupting 20% of global oil. A wider conflict could push oil to $120, per JPMorgan, hammering global economies. OPEC+ spare capacity may stabilize prices if tensions ease.

@project_omnis

Israel’s operation, likely to continue, aims to cripple Iran’s nuclear and military-industrial capabilities. Iran’s response remains uncertain—its western air defenses are decimated, and offensive capabilities are untested. A restrained retaliation risks internal unrest, while escalation could invite broader conflict.

Iran’s military disarray, with key commanders like Hossein Salami and Mohammad Bagheri killed, hampers coordination. Protests signal public fury, but without clear leadership, they may fizzle. Israel’s preemptive narrative—claiming Iran neared nuclear weaponization—justifies its aggression, though IAEA reports no radiation spikes at Natanz.

Expect Israel to press its advantage, targeting strategic sites, as Iran grapples with internal fractures and external pressure.

Global reactions, from Qatar’s condemnation to Trump’s deal-or-else rhetoric, underscore diplomatic isolation for both sides. Iran’s next move, if any, will test its resilience.
