Hundreds of protesters marched in Kiev on Wednesday in a rally against compulsory vaccinations and other restrictive measures imposed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Ukrainian Health Minister Viktor Lyashko said in a press conference that such calls are "a mockery of our medics and of the families who, unfortunately, have lost their relatives to COVID-19".

Fifteen regions of Ukraine, including Kiev, are in the so-called 'red' zone of COVID-19 cases. Cafes, restaurants, shopping centres, non-food shops, and most educational institutions are closed in the regions.

Earlier, the Ukrainian government ruled that officials and education workers must be vaccinated against COVID-19 starting from November 8 or face suspension.
