Patchwork Staccato
The time we shared as one
This intricate patchwork we have woven
Will have to end now, all of a sudden
Let’s rip these threads, unravel them and
Watch the colours scatter, see what we’ve become
Hey, come on, do you remember what you said?
Those useless words, all the time we wasted?
And by unravelling these threads
We’ll see they’re uneven – but don’t frown, just laugh instead
Tick-tock, tick-tock, draw a circle
Ding dong, ding dong, play a little game
Tick-tock, tick-tock, link up, release
Ding dong, ding dong, well, later then.
The threads we broke whisper softly to me
I really don’t want, don’t want you here anymore,
And if we keep continuing like this
It really won’t be, won’t be changing, that’s for sure
Don’t think it’s something I would miss
So can I, can I throw it all away?
I doubt you’d even notice any change
But maybe my love, my love will just never fade
Might hurt a bit, if that’s the case
As soon as I noticed, I started getting sick
Of that same screen I’d always been watching
But if small things like that were to go missing
and leave my life, it would be quite boring
Flick-tap, flick-tap,
Slide on the screen
Swipe-tap, swipe-tap,
A.R. -> T
Flick-tap, flick-tap,
Open, tap it
Swipe-swipe, swipe-swipe
So done with this
The swaying threads whisper softly to me
I really don’t want, don’t want you here anymore,
We’re still continuing like this, it seems
It really won’t be, won’t be changing, that’s for sure
It might get just a tad lonely
Oh, can I, can I throw it all away?
You’re still not noticing that it has changed
But maybe my love, my love will just never fade
It’s going to hurt, if that’s the case…
*throat clear*
…So that’s why
…I really don’t want, don’t want you here anymore
It’s still continuing, and I can see
It really won’t change, won’t change, of that I am sure
It will just get a tad lonely
So, can I, can I throw it all away?
You’re still not noticing? Well then, I guess
That I can tell you, tell you, from our early days
I am only one truly in love!
...Tick-Tock, Tick-Tock...
...Ding-Dong, Ding-Dong...
The time we shared as one
This intricate patchwork we have woven
Will have to end now, all of a sudden
Let’s rip these threads, unravel them and
Hope for a simple end
Someday we’ll laugh again
The time we shared as one
