We are announcing that TonStake will officially upgrade and transition to KTON on March 31, 2025.

To ensure a smooth migration, please review the following options available to you:

a. Withdraw Funds (now - March 31, 2025):
You may choose to withdraw your TON from TonStake and get back your TON during this period.

b. Self-Migration to KTON (now - March 31, 2025):
You can withdraw your funds from TonStake and stake them directly through KTON to earn higher yield and high liquidity.

c. Automatic Migration (After March 31, 2025):
If no action is taken by March 31, 2025, we will automatically migrate your funds to KTON staking platform on your behalf and earn higher yield and liquidity. Your fund is safe and you will earn KTON APY as well. If your TON balance is less than 1 TON, we will send back your fund from the wallet you deposit it.

TON Blockchain Address Update Announcement

Dear Users,
Important news, there has been an important update to the way wallet addresses are displayed on the TON Blockchain.

For TonStake Users, don’t worry at all because both formats will be support in V2 version.

What's Changing?

By the end of this year the entire TON Blockchain will display wallet addresses differently. The new address will start with UQ instead ofhain A And the last four letters will change too. The old address will also work and direct to the same wallet. It doesn't effect the safety of funds stored in your wallet anyhow.

Example of the Change:

⚡️New Format: UQCj21jnwdgX931RI9yC-PVeMx2cC__DmRvOOhzZGIZyPIDW

Why is this happening?

The EQ format is best suited for smart contracts that process incoming funds. This is because if a smart contract has not been published yet (i.e., the code isn't currently on the blockchain), then the TON sent to that address will automatically bounce back to the sender. This return mechanism serves as a safety feature. If there's any error, the TON are returned, hence protecting your funds.

On the other hand, the UQ format is more compatible with wallets designed for straightforward storage of funds. In such cases, coins never bounce because each wallet commences as a plain address, absent of a coded presence on the blockchain. This simplicity ensures no need for coins to revert, making it a practical choice for wallet designs.

Interestingly, historical usage saw wallets employing EQ addresses. This implied that wallets had the constant task of verifying if the destination contract was published or not. This setup led to confusion, bugs, and consequential errors due to the cumbersome process.

What does this mean for TonStake users?

We would like to reassure all TonStake users: there is no need to be concerned. In our upcoming V2 update, both scenarios mentioned above will be fully supported. Whether you're transacting with an old EQ address or a new one, TonStake has you covered.

If you continue sending funds to an old EQ address someone shared with you, one of two scenarios will unfold:

1. In most cases, the destination wallet will be active, and you won't notice any difference.
2. On rare occasions, if the wallet hasn't been used for payments, the Tonkeeper system will restrict sending coins to that address starting next year. In such cases, you'll need to request a new UQ address from the recipient.
