The EU will not be directly involved in granting a new $50 billion loan to Ukraine, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni has said.
The Italian prime minister noted that EU countries would not be involved in the loan, as the bulk of Russian assets are frozen in European jurisdictions.

"The loan will be provided by the United States, as well as Canada, the United Kingdom and probably Japan, within their constitutional constraints," Reuters quoted Meloni as saying.
