7/ This has resulted in multiple accounts, including yours truly, calling out that X is quickly becoming a China-style social credit system.

This also comes shortly after Linda Yaccarino announced that in the New Year X will become a payment app, kind of like a bank.

After all of this? I’m not sure that’ll go too well, but unfortunately many are defending this behaviour of the app, not identifying the slippery slope.

6/ Elon then encouraged users to “restrict replies” of anyone who doesn’t have a blue checkmark (which X just increased the monthly price for).

Naturally, this is an additional way to ensure all of those who have had their blue checkmarks removed in a social credit system style punishment don’t get visibility on the platform, and force others who want to be seen to pay to play.

5/ Multiple users, including myself, started enquiring of Grok what may constitute being “too negative.”

Grok says that even having a “critical or skeptical tone” may result in the app considering your content “too negative.”

3/ Elon/X continued to slowly suspend accounts. I’m not sure about this one in particular, but I’m posting it as yet another example of suspensions.

The others I know about had 2 things in common:

1. Critical of H1B/Elon
2. Critical of Israel

2/ Following the H1B debate and Elon repeatedly getting ratio’d into oblivion in his comments, he started by suspending a group of “deplorables”; Groypers and those associated with them, because of course, censorship is more palatable when it’s a group that a lot of people don’t like and disagree with.

But that wasn’t the only group. Others not associated with the Groypers who were ratio’ing Elon in his comments or prominent critics of his were getting their blue ticks removed, which results in shadowbanning/limiting of their account visibility.
