🟠 Downloads for Unregistered Users

After 2 years, we have restored the ability for guests to download 5 books. Please note that the download limits are based on your IP address. It's common for internet providers to use shared IPs for multiple devices, so the download limit may also be shared between those devices. If this is the case, the download limit may already have been spent for the IP address you're using

We'd like to point out that this function not only allows everyone to download books without registering or logging in, but also helps to distinguish our website from scam sites


⏳Improved search engine

Our development team works hard every day to improve the use of the website, and today we'd like to speak about the updates on search engine:

- By clicking on the author's name on a search result's page, you can find other books by the same author. The improvement is that the search by author with initials now works more accurately;

- From now on, you can search for books+format without setting a filter, for example, Computer Science pdf. Please note that you can only use one format;

- The possibility of searching by using several fields. The fields that can be recognized are title, author and publisher. For example, title:fashion author:tierney;

- Words can be excluded from a search query by adding a minus sign before the words, for example: c++ -beginner -crash -guide -Stroustrup. Moreover, the words can be excluded from all fields: "Stroustrup" is an author, so in the search results there will be only books where he is not mentioned as the author.

Dear readers,

Since most of our team is from post-Soviet states, we would like to honor the creator of the Flibusta project, Stiver. Flibusta is a free online library that provides access to Russian-language literature, allowing free exchange of literature among users.

On October 20, 2024, after a month of being treated for glioblastoma, which was unfortunately not curable, Stiver passed away through euthanasia.

Today we would like to honor the memory of Stiver, who shared the same goal of providing free access to knowledge. Same as Flibusta, Z-Library was created in 2009 with the mission of giving everyone the opportunity to read and learn, regardless of their financial status. This man was able to bring his idea to life and create a place where the words and thoughts captured in books could circulate freely.

We are deeply saddened by the loss of a man who has been a true asset to the book world. His efforts have made knowledge available to all, helping countless people broaden their horizons and discover new worlds of inspiration.

His memory will live on in our hearts as a symbol of the endless possibilities of the written word, a world that is truly open to all. We must continue his work of spreading knowledge and culture, and may his good deeds inspire us all.

Rest in peace, Stiver. Your contribution to making the world a better place through access to knowledge is immeasurable!

New version of Desktop App 🌈

In our most recent post, we announced the availability of the app for Windows and Linux. We are happy to inform you that the new MacOS version is also available.
* Please note, the newest version compatible with M1 and later processors. In case you have Intel, you don’t need to update application. The version for Intel would be available later.

Separated buttons to Read and Download 🔄

As we are trying to make the library more convenient, we have decided to divide the read and download buttons. So, from now on, you do not need to look for hidden buttons as they are all visible now. Have you noticed the change?

Access issues ✅

As most of you already know, under repeated conditions, our domains are being blocked. So, we'd like to remind you that you can get access to available links through our magic email. Just send any email from your inbox to blackbox@1delivery.re and you will receive access links within 3-5 minutes in an auto-generated email. Easy as that!

Dear Z-Librarians,

We are delighted to announce that our fall fundraising campaign officially started on September 15th. We greatly appreciate any support you can give us during this time. Please participate in fundraising 🫶

As you may know, many of our domains were blocked in November 2022, and the inner infrastructure of the project suffered some substantial damage. At the moment, Z-Library is still going through difficult times in all 14 years of its existence. We are doing everything possible to provide free access to knowledge.

🔸 Enabled the Online Reader for all users (for unauthorized in the file preview mode);
🔸 Introduced dark and extra-dark themes for the Reader, with the added feature of saving the reading position;
🔸 Implemented the function to appreciate users' comments with likes;
🔸 Overhauled the desktop application's interface to improve usability.;
🔸 Released a new version for Android application, with bug fixes and enhanced connection stability;
🔸 Revamped the user profile: introduced public profiles, added the ability to upload an avatar, change the profile cover, fill in information about yourself;
🔸 Redesigned Booklist page, website footer, menu and profile settings;

Online Reader 🤓
Just recently, we introduced an online reader that lets you to read any books without downloading them. Since then, the reader has undergone significant changes and has become something unique and really convenient. Following our core values of making knowledge accessible to everyone, we are thrilled to announce that we have made our online reader available to all users. This means that Basic users will be able to read the books, just like Premium users. Even our Guests will now have the opportunity to enjoy the book previews. We hope that this will make it easier for most of our users to read any book they like.

Redesigned User Profile and Menu ⚙️
We’re continuing on working to improve and enhance the functionality of User Profile. Now, your Profile is in a separate location, which you can find in the upper right-hand corner of the page. In your profile you would be able to upload avatar, manage your status, interests, settings, view your booklists, read comments, and more.
Not only has the Profile been updated, but the Menu has also been transformed. It now looks smoother and more appealing. Have you noticed all the changes yet?


To conclude, we want to remind you to be cautious of fraudulent websites. We receive many reports daily about people falling victim to their schemes. Please remember that our books are available for free reading and download!

Today, we are thrilled to share some exciting news from our library. Our team is constantly working hard to improve the website, applications, and features. Let us take you through our latest updates!

🔸New version of Desktop launcher. The newest version of our desktop launcher is now available for both Windows and Linux. It has undergone a comprehensive redesign and includes numerous new features. You can download it from Z-Access go-to-library.sk

🔸User Profile. In our recent post we began to share updates about user profiles. So, we are moving forward with it and taking a next step. Now you can write your bio, add your interests, and so on. All of this can be done in the Edit Profile - Public Profile section.

🔸Online Reader. We made significant improvements to the online reader as well. One of the most notable updates is the ability to save your reading position. Now, you can close the book without worrying about losing your place. The next time you open the book, you'll be able to continue reading right where you left off.

The second important enhancement is that you can now report bugs and issues related to the reader. The bug button can be found in the lower right corner.

Moreover, we’ve also made visual updates to the toolbar and finalised the full-screen mode.

🔸Promo codes. Starting today we are launching Promo Codes, and can find them by following our updates and news. Keep an eye out for them, and try to find your first Promo Code in our latest post

🔹 Introducing Dark Theme for Online Reader
Based on the feedback from many users who prefer reading light text against a dark background, we are pleased to introduce the dark theme for our online reader. This new feature has been added to enhance your reading experience. Have you given it a try yet? We'd love to hear which mode you find more comfortable for reading books.

Please note that our reader is presently in the beta-testing phase. If you encounter any issues with text file display, don't hesitate to report it to us at support@z-lib.se

🔹Redesigned Booklist Page
Following the overhaul of the user profile, we've also decided to redesign the booklist page. The new layout offers a more organized display of books, making it easier for users to navigate and absorb information. Now, you can download a book directly from the booklist and access main actions (Read Online, Download, Add to Favorites and Add to Your Booklist) via the 3 dots button. If an author has provided an introduction to the book, you'll see an icon indicating the same.

🔹 Enhanced Full-Text Search
We've made improvements to our full-text search, ensuring you receive even more precise results. We've also incorporated text recognition for books without a text layer, making them searchable and accessible in the full-text search results.

The Z-Library team is here to share the latest news with you.

Just a few days ago we've completely revamped user profiles on our website. We've added a social touch, so now you can personalize your profile with an avatar (with background customization on the horizon). Plus, you can share a link to your profile, allowing other users to view it. While currently, your profile only displays your booklists and comments, we have plans to expand its features in the future. Have you uploaded your avatar yet?

Although the last 2 years have been challenging for the project and the team, we are not giving up and are continuing to work on the development of the library!

We have recently introduced several key features:

🔸 Released a portable version of the desktop application on Windows;

🔸 Opened Litera Point registration for the global paper library project (Litera Library);

🔸 Designed and launched a tool to add paper books to our website;

🔸 Improved recommendation system based on book texts and added a book recommendation section to the search results;

🔸 Redesign of book covers, website footer and user profile;

🔸 Improvements in the Booklist section: booklist menu, color-coding your booklist for easy organization, sorting option on a booklist page;

📚 Improved Recommendation System Based On Book Texts 📚


We're constantly working on improving the functionality of our library. Today, we would like to introduce a new great feature — improved book recommendation system, that will allow you to discover many new and interesting books.

Previously, recommendations were solely based on user behavior. Over the many years of the project's existence, we've collected extensive statistics that allow us to build relevant book recommendations on different topics and languages. However, we recognized that this approach had its limitations, for example, it couldn't generate recommendations for rare or unpopular books.

To solve this problem, we developed our own technology to find similar texts among millions of books and implemented it in our recommendation blocks. Now, when generating recommendations, we take into account not only user behavior but also our unique text comparison technology. This means that when selecting books for recommendations, we analyze books content to provide you with more accurate and diverse suggestions. For example, the screenshot shows new book recommendations for an Arctic-related book.

Thanks to this improvement, you will be able to find books that truly match your interests and discover new captivating works that you might have missed. Try it now and explore new books! ✨
