Telegram to build decentralized exchange, crypto wallets
Telegram founder and CEO Pavel Durov said the messaging app plans to continue building crypto infrastructure.
Durov said the company will create decentralized exchanges and wallets that will allow millions of people to safely use and trade their cryptocurrencies.
Telegram has been relatively successful in building its own cryptocurrency infrastructure, selling $50 million worth of user names through Fragment, its auction blockchain platform.
Durov urged the development community to steer the crypto industry toward decentralization and decentralized applications. He stressed the need to do away with the third parties that have led to uncertainty in the crypto space. According to Durov, over-reliance on centralized structures has caused many users to lose their savings, as demonstrated by the collapse of FTX.
