▫️Switzerland: Expert attests high risk of recidivism for accused
On Tuesday, an expert witness attested that the 74-year-old defendant in the abuse trial at the Lucerne court was at high risk of relapsing. He also assumes full culpability.
As the accused refused to give evidence during the expert's examination, he had to base his expert opinion on the files. He diagnosed the 74-year-old Swiss man with homosexual paedophilia and suspected dissocial and narcissistic personality traits.
The expert was also of the opinion that the ten years of therapy that the accused had received had not been carried out professionally. This was because the defendant's personality traits were much more pronounced than stated by his therapist. The expert assumes that these were overlooked, possibly due to a lack of distance.
It also emerged from the trial that the accused had already been convicted of a sexual assault on two boys in 2006 and had been in therapy since then.
From 2015 to 2022, the accused then allegedly paid a family from Slovakia to accommodate their seven underage boys at his home. During the stays, he allegedly sexually exploited the children.
