▫️Teenager allegedly kidnapped from Aurora coffee shop found safe, police say
A teenage girl who was reportedly forced out of an East Colfax Avenue coffee shop and into a truck by a woman on Sunday evening was found safe Monday, according to the Aurora Police Department.
The unidentified girl walked into a coffee shop near East Colfax Avenue and North Scranton Street around 5;20 p.m. and asked to use the bathroom, Aurora investigators said. Moments later, another woman entered the coffee shop and forced the teen out of the store and into a blue Ford F150 truck, police said.

▫️Registered sex offender arrested for filming child at Cave City event, police say
CAVE CITY, Ky. – A registered sex offender was arrested Friday after an incident at a holiday vendor event in Cave City.
Police said Chief Paul Reynolds, who was working at the Cave Area Conference Center during the event, recognized 54-year-old Jose Zapata as a registered sex offender. According to police, Zapata was live-streaming the video on Facebook via the “His Hands Creations” page, narrating as he filmed the people, including the child. Zapata was arrested and charged with violating a law that prohibits registered sex offenders from photographing or filming minors without consent.

▫️Man accused of human trafficking, prostitution in Wayne Co. arraigned
An Allen Park man linked to what authorities have called an international human trafficking ring was charged Monday with prostitution and other charges, the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office announced.
Michael Richard Navoy, 70, was arraigned through 28th District Court in Southgate on charges of accepting earnings of a prostitute; forced labor resulting in commercial sexual activity; human trafficking; using a computer to commit the crime of forced labor resulting in commercial sexual activity; and keeping a house of prostitution.
He received a $1 million bond.
A probable cause conference is scheduled for Dec. 20. A preliminary examination follows on Dec. 27.

▫️Port St. Lucie becomes first Florida city to join 100 Percent Club to combat human trafficking
Attorney General Ashley Moody announced today that the City of Port St. Lucie is the first city in Florida to join the 100 Percent Club, which means more than 1,000 employees completed crucial anti-human trafficking training and now know the signs to help spot human trafficking and report the crime.
The 100 Percent Club campaign is part of Attorney General Moody’s broader efforts to combat human trafficking across Florida by encouraging businesses and communities to train their employees on how to identify and safely report potential trafficking situations.
Since 2022, more than 53 companies, organizations and entities signed up and have trained more than 12,000 Floridians on how to spot and report trafficking.
