This thing is not powered by "Google assistant" at all. Just because the UI looks like Google assistant doesn't mean it's powered by Google assistant. I have "Google" app disabled and this thing still works. As soon as I disable "Text to speech" app, the speech recognition just stops working.

So it relies on TTS app as usual like before.
