Uzbekistan, Japan discuss development of cooperation.
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -On 24 December 2018, the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Ilkhom Nematov met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan Nobuaki Ito.
At the meeting, current issues of Uzbekistan – Japan agenda were discussed, the cooperation results for 2018 were summed up.
As it was emphasized, bilateral relations this year have progressively developed in almost all spheres of interaction. The 14th meeting of Uzbekistan – Japan and Japan – Uzbekistan Economic Cooperation Committees and the 2nd meeting of the Inter-Parliamentary Forum between Uzbekistan and Japan were successfully held in Tokyo.
Cancellation of visa regime in Uzbekistan for Japanese citizens served to increase the number of tourists from Japan to Uzbekistan. In January-November of the current year, this figure has increased by 48% compared to the same period of 2017.
