🎥 As Israel’s war on Gaza magnifies, Palestinians fleeing the aggression have relocated to Cairo and are building their new lives, unsure of their future, and if they will be able to return to Gaza.
“If the war stopped now, I would need at least two to three years to go back to Gaza. As I said, Gaza is completely destroyed, it needs reconstruction and many other things,” said Palestinian restaurant owner Bassem Abu Aoun.
Bassem serves Gaza-style turkey shawarma at his restaurant in an eastern Cairo neighbourhood, where a growing number of businesses opened by displaced Palestinians have many dubbing the area Little Gaza.
