Ukrainian-Russian war. Day 996:
Situation on Siversk front: During the first weeks of November Ukrainian Army reversed Russian Army advances east of Verkhnokamyanske & north of this locality at "White hill". In addition, Map corrections were made showing Ukrainian forces still in control over a series of positions south of Hryhorivka & southwest of Bilohorivka, close to the chalk-quarry.

This situation is not unique along the border. A similar situation was found in Kursk. The locality of Otruba fell ‘under Ukrainian control’, as the existence of the Seim River in the rear prevented its effective defence, so it was abandoned, in this case, by the Russian forces. Not surprisingly, these territories remain outside the control of their respective countries for the remainder of the war. These are territories that will be abandoned and reoccupied depending on the military objectives to be decided. An offensive on Chernigov is not expected in the near future.

Ukrainian-Russian war. Day 995:
Situation on Chernigov: During the last hours Russian Army crossed the border & entered in the oblast of Chernigov, concretely in the localities of Murav'i, Novoselivka & Kolos, where some Russian flags were raised. It can be said that the localities have fallen ‘under Russian control’. However, it is not foreseeable that Russian forces will establish a strong foothold there. These settlements were previously abandoned by the Ukrainian army and their inhabitants were evacuated. The existence of the Sudost River in the rear of the border troops prevented their effective defence, so the bridge leading to the settlements was demolished.

Quite similar operation that the ones we saw on Sumy. Only reconnaissance groups. With the Ukrainian offensive on Kursk this summer. The possibility to make more operations like the one of may north of Kharkov, were delayed. Russian will focus on the elimination of Kursk salient trying to expell Ukrainian Army before Trump starts his mandate as US president.
