Noma’lum dan repost
In an AWU Union letter.....
Today your Convenors attended a State Branch meeting and held discussions around the proposed mandatory vaccination that’s potentially effecting our members.
We want to remind everyone that a Public Health Order still hasn’t been delivered, meaning no legal or lawful direction has been given by the Government for members to get vaccinated, or provide medical evidence to prove that they’re vaccinated.
We have received reports from sites that some management have been DIRECTING employees to ensure they vaccinated by December 1st, and saying employees will no longer have work after this date if they haven’t been vaccinated or don’t provide evidence to prove that they are.
Until a Public Health Order has been delivered that provides this legal direction from the Government to Employers, the Company does not have the ability to ask for your vaccination records, ask if you’ve been vaccinated, tell you that you’re required to get vaccinated, or say you’ll lose your job if you aren’t vaccinated.
As stated in our last communication, we are still awaiting a Public Health Order which we anticipate may be delivered early next week, and we have Senior Counsel waiting to provide expert legal advice to determine whether the Government’s actions are lawful.
As always, we will provide updates as they arise and will advise members as soon as we hear of the Public Health Order being delivered.
