This is why studying the entirety of the Word is important or else we create whole doctrines out of a few verses. Binding and loosing" is a phrase in the Bible that refers to the authority to prohibit or permit certain actions: Bind: To declare something forbiddenLoosen: To declare something permissible or to allowIt has ZERO to do with demons or principalities! Why when Paul says in scripture “I say not the Lord” in I Corinthians 7:12 it is still SCRIPTURE and we must obey as he was given the authority to allow/prohibit whatever he felt would further the Kingdom.Casting out demons is biblical. In Revelation satan is bound for 1,000 years. Who does this? An angel.Who defeats Satan in revelation?Archangel Michael. Where do you see any examples in scripture of any Christ follower having the authority to bind or loosen demons/principalities? Nowhere.Not a single instance. In the Bible, angels bind demons and Satan, not humans:
Revelation 20:1-3: A mighty angel from God binds Satan for a thousand years, preventing him from deceiving the nations. The Demons of the Euphrates: God binds four wicked angels near the Euphrates River in the Middle East. Jude 6: God binds the “sons of God” in “everlasting chains” until the day of judgment2 Timothy 2:15 says, "Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth".“If you’re having to “bind Satan” every week, my question is who keeps loosing him? 🤔I know this is a trigger for some, but consider the following.SATAN IS DEFEATED.No need to bind him anymore. All the binding was before the cross. Jesus has risen and has all power in His hand. If you’re going to bind anything, bind the lies that keep us believing he has power.What about demonic influence that causes people to do bad things? Actually, it’s not demonic influence, just old flesh patterns, old ways of getting our needs for love, acceptance, worth and security met. Or numbing the pain of not allowing Jesus to be sufficient to meet them.But sometimes we just need to go into prayer and pray through so we can bind the devil? Right? You don’t need to. Everything we hear about binding is before the cross. We have victory in Jesus Christ. There’s literally nothing to bind and everything we need has already been loosed in Christ. It’s an Old Covenant mindset. We need to walk in it what has been provided. We don’t need to empower disempowered spirits. Satan is defeated. We need to know that and start walking in the authority of it.Once I found out how to rest IN victory and not fight FOR victory it all changed. The fight is for my faith, not anything I’m battling in life. Any fight I have is a place where my mind needs to be renewed to the truth of the finished work of Jesus.
