Hundreds of medical students at Moi University in Eldoret are yet to graduate from the institution, nine years after they enrolled for a course that normally could have lasted six years. This is due to the perennial lucturers' strikes.

With the ongoing strike, many of these students now confess their career frustrations as their course period has once again stagnated, adding them emotional burden.

Some of those who talked to the media say when they joined Moi University to train as medics, most the current first years were in class five, this, completely demoralizing them.

Others say their relatives think they dropped out of school as only a few understand why they are yet to graduate, close to a decade after joining the institution.

Politicians allied to the Kenya Kwanza government have continued with their onslaught on Catholic bishops over their fiery statement on Thursday, where they called out the government for being political bickerers and liars, other than working for Kenyans and keeping their campaign promises.

National Assembly Deputy Speaker and Uasin Gishu County Woman Member of Parliament Gladys Boss Shollei has slammed the bishops, accusing them of meddling in politics of the country and the presidency.

"The job of Bishops is spiritual work. Let them leave the business of running the country to those who have been tasked with the job of running it. The President was elected to run the country. The Executive was appointed to support the President, and the Parliament has the role of oversight," MP Shollei says.

She faults the Bishops for standing out and casting all manner of accusations at the government.

JUST IN: The government has ordered a countrywide crackdown on all unroadworthy vehicles, majorly passenger vehicles, effective immediately.

Acting Interior CS Musalia Mudavadi, while issuing the orders moments ago, has said all officers assigned to the exercise, which will last until the festive season, must ensure that all the PSVs on the road have all lawful requirements to be allowed to ferry passengers between different destinations.

Among the requirements are inspection certificates, updated Sacco registration details, the physical condition of the vehicle, and updated details/records of the vehicle operators.

The Ag. CS says this move is meant to protect Kenyans from accidents majorly caused by unroadworthy vehicles and untrained drivers, especially during the festive season when many Kenyans are travelling within the country.

The prices of Super Petrol, Diesel and Kerosene will now remain unchanged for the next 30 days in Nairobi after the latest monthly fuel review by the Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA ).

The regulator retained pump prices for Super Petrol, Diesel and Kerosene at KSh 180.66, KSh 168.06, KSh 151.39 per litre respectively.
