I know many of you are unsure what to do about the letters you have received.

If you have received a general letter and ignore it, you will probably receive a phone call. At this point you may wish to have the conversation with your principal/DP/employer. Legally you do NOT have to disclose your vaccination status. This information is private and between you and your doctor.

Anyone being pressured to show evidence of vaccination, you can send a legal letter. You can respond to the general email you received addressed to all employees. See our ‘Legal Letters’ folder below. These letters were written by a lawyer. They can be used in any industry.

Make sure all letters are addressed to a living human being, not a company. A man/woman must be asked to take liability. Best to address it to your principal. Ask for any demand they ask of you in writing so that you have a paper trail, email is best.

Do not quit your job. If they fire you, these are grounds for unfair dismissal/discrimination. If you are stood down with no pay, remember it will be temporary, apply for government assistance.

Important: Finish your letter asking for a reply within 7 days. If they want to reply to you in person or on the phone, tell them to put everything in writing.
