Wyoming pulled LayerZero out from under its own stablecoin
FRNT is the first dollar-pegged, fully reserved token issued by a public body in the US. It lives on eight networks, among them Ethereum, Solana, Base and Avalanche.
Before: transfers between networks ran through the LayerZero standard — that is how the commission first deployed the token.
Now: after a detailed security review the LayerZero implementation was fully deprecated, and the cross-chain layer went to Chainlink CCIP on a multi-year contract. There, every transfer is redundantly validated by at least 16 independent node operators.
The commission's executive director named the reason plainly: concerns about the previous provider's disclosure practices and operational security. It is the first time a US government body has publicly swapped its infrastructure specifically on security grounds. Commission statement.
