TAPs chest rig straps are by far the biggest negative straight out of the box.

As anyone knows military surplus and gear is the cheapest, functional option. These straps are a great example of that.

They are super thin and flimsy. There was a purpose and reason because this set up as is was meant to be used in conjunction with other PCs, loadouts, and rigs. Thin straps typically are because you can use them under other pieces of clothing or gear.

The other immediate issue I see even without it being loaded up as a full chest rig is one single point on the sides of the carrier.

With weight I can see the single point not being sufficient to be able to comfortably keep it in place.

The Krydex H Harness strap set may be one of the easiest cheaper solutions to convert it to a better set up with two points on each side of the carrier. Along with thicker more comfortable shoulder straps.

As is, my stock harness straps are adjusted all the way up as far as they can go.

One upgrade that continues to get brought up is the straps on tap rigs.

Krydex does sell an H harness that will work perfect with the TAPs chest rig.

The repair clips go straight on and allows for two points of strapping for the side instead of one.

Duty carry mounts have a myriad of different ways to carry. The Goldilocks seems to be a mid ride option. This is a good place to start if you don't know what to get.

Reason being is that it's lower than your belt line and will easily clear possibly other equipment. Like plate carriers, belt kits, harnesses and the likes.

Not all drop leg holsters are equal. And getting comfortable and durable gear isn't cheap.
