Werewolf 10th Anniversary – Final Day

Today is the day: @werewolfbot officially turns 10 years old! Hooray! 🎉
You may have noticed throughout the event: There have been no new roles in over 7 years! 😱
This is mostly due to the fact that the developers got busy with real life. Also, the 42 existing roles already allow for a high variety of games and we do not want to bloat the bot.

BUT:
For the 10th anniversary, we are releasing two brand new roles for you all! Hype!

⚠️ NOTE: BETA BOT ONLY FOR NOW! Will release on @werewolfbot soon.

The Chef 🍚
Always carries a bowl of rice. At daytime, they scatter some rice in one person's doorway. The next morning, they get up early and check the rice for footprints, to find out if that player has left the house at night, and how many people visited that player.

The Barkeep 🍸
Has a bar as a house. At night, the bar is open for all lowly villagers 👨 to enter and drink some beer. Each villager has a random chance of going to the bar each night, with the probability decreasing in larger villages (more players). Once a villager goes to the bar for the third time, they become a Drunk 🍺, and get to know the barkeep's name and vice versa.

Alongside with these new roles, we have prepared a couple new achievements for you!

Going Down with my Beer
> As a villager, die by visiting the bar the night it is set on fire.

Alcoholics Anonymous
> Be one of 3 or more drunks at the end of the game.

Liquid Business
> As the barkeep, have your bar be visited by 3 or more villagers in the same night.

Going Out Of Business
> As the barkeep in a game of 10 players or more, have no visitors in your bar for 3 nights in a row!

Traffic Control
> As the chef, find out that a person was visited by 3 people in one night.

Definitely Dead
> As the chef, track a person who is murdered that night.

Food Waste
> As the chef, track 3 or more different people who did not leave their house and did not have visitors.

IMPORTANT: These new roles and achievements are only on BETA BOT for now. Come play in @werewolfgame, @werewolfvets, or other beta groups to try them out!
As soon as they are tested a little, we will release them to @werewolfbot for everyone.

... that maintaining @werewolfbot over the years has accumulated costs well over 10,000 USD? Most of which has been paid by a few admins and developers, keeping the bot alive, together with your donations! Those new roles brought more new dynamics into the game. Alongside, more new achievements were constantly released to make finding out the new roles' mechanics even more fun!

Did you know...
... that we were first invited to the global Mafia Championship in 2017 (in its 4th season)? That was the first championship after the bot has been made public, and it was already so popular across telegram (and beyond) that the MU Championship organizers found out about us and asked us to join!
@GreyWolfDev has since been invited every year, sent one person who ended up in the final game, and several semifinalists!

Werewolf 10th Anniversary – Day 4
After over a year of no more new roles, the incredible happened! What started out as an April Fool's Joke in April of 2018 became reality!
The @GreyWolfDev admins came up with a fictional list of roles that were supposedly added, when in reality, nothing of that was true.
When Para, the Alpha Wolf, heard the player's complaints about the exciting new roles that didn't really exist, he decided to go for it and make them real!

Not long after, these roles were really added to the bot:

When the Bot API (which powers the bots on telegram) was still young, Telegram had a contest to see the most creative things people could do with Telegram Bots. Did you know...
... that up until October of 2016, roles were not assigned randomly? Instead, the number of players in the game precisely dictated the possible roles! So many of the new roles from before were actually impossible to see in smaller games. In order to make smaller games more enjoyable, the random role assignment was initially released as Chaos Mode, and then also brought to normal mode, with additional balancing restrictions.

Werewolf 10th Anniversary – Day 2
In June of 2016, four more roles were added! Maybe you have noticed yesterday that there were really just three factions: Village, Wolves and Cult.
This is about to change now, as there are now ❤️ Lovers, a 🔪 Killer and a role that always loses! 😱

Did you know...
... that Werewolf Bot was never meant to be a huge, public bot? It was only a personal project of Para, and it blew all up, as it was really the first of its kind gamebot on Telegram!

... that there used to be a game queue, where you would need to wait before being able to play in your group, because the initial version of the bot couldn't handle the load of too many games at once?

[Integrating FAST Bans in Executrix]
Like CAS Bans and Spamwatch before, Executrix now integrates with the FAST Scammer list, a list of scammer accounts maintained by the Furry community. If you wish to enable this list in your group to keep the users flagged as scammers out, turn on "EnableFASTScamList" under /menu ➡️ "General". Executrix will automatically ban new people joining your group if they are on this list.

[Bots unresponsive]

We're investigating unresponsive behaviour with our bots across all groups. We're not currently sure what the issue is but will get back to you all when we have an update.

In the meantime, please avoid spamming the bot with extra messages.

Our bots are currently not working. I am assuming that this is a problem on Telegram's side, since our server is running just fine.
The problem is likely to resolve itself soon enough.
In the meantime, do not flood bot commands. It doesn't help, it only takes longer and gets you banned.
Sorry, we hope that you all can get back to wuffing as soon as possible!

[Werewolf 9th Anniversary]
Today, on 18th of March, the first creation of @werewolfbot was exactly 9 years ago! We made it to nearly a decade of Telegram wuffing!

To celebrate this, we have just released 9 new achievements - enjoy trying to get them and happy wuffing! 🐺

Here is the list of new achievements:

Firefighter
As the guardian angel, clean three houses of kerosene.

Helpful Paranoia
As the hunter, shoot two attackers!

S-Tier Hunter
As the hunter, take down a wolf and a cultist in the same night!

Triple Kill
As a serial killer or wolf, have at least three people die by your hand in the same night!

Resist the Beast
As a trio of wild child, traitor, and cursed, all remain human and win the game with the village.

At least you tried...
As the guardian angel, save someone at night only to watch them die to the chemist's poison.

Lucky Night
Survive the chemist's visit and enjoy the harlot's visit in the same night!

In the Middle of the Trouble
As the guardian angel, save a werewolf from an attack and survive!

Am I hallucinating?!
As the fool, see a role which the seer can never see!

In addition to telegram's issue, our server is also overloaded now. We will try to fix this but it will probably take some hours until somebody gets to it, so please be patient. Do not spam bot commands, it does not help and only risks getting you banned from our bots. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Telegram is currently having issues with the bot API - many bots appear to be affected, including the werewolf bots and executrix. We will disable new games until the problem seems to be resolved.
