An initiative of the
UN Trust Fund for Human Security and
the World Academy of Art and Science
in support of the United Nations’ commitment to
Human Security
Today humanity faces unprecedented global challenges that can only be effectively addressed by collaboration of all the nations and people of the world. Galvanizing support of the global public requires a message that every human being can understand and commit to. Human Security is that message. Human security speaks directly to people about their own personal concerns. It addresses all the critical issues confronting the world today, including peace, human rights, inequality, health, food, education, jobs, safe communities and personal safety, energy, pollution, biodiversity and, of course, climate change. It’s a flag that supports all 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals which 193 countries have already approved and rallied around. But it speaks of these things in a personal language which everyone can identify with. It’s a message that can rally widespread support for the commitments already made by national governments,
UN agencies, communities, corporations, NGOs, religious groups and others to make the world a better, safer place for everyone. https://new.worldacademy.org/hs4a/
