About filming people in public
At first, I didn’t see these types of videos as a problem, as it shows someone actively editing a picture to create a false sense of reality. However, after listening to our intuition, as well as feedback from the community, we get the sense that this is not something that has a place in our community. It’s an invasion of someone’s privacy, albeit, in a public place. Even with the best intentions, these videos are pushing a boundary that can have real work reprecussions.
Although these videos show someone actively editing a picture, we will no longer allow these videos to be posted on the sub. We do not want to encourage anyone to break any rules or laws, or put a person at risk for harassment or doxing. We hope you guys understand this decision and wanted to offer an explanation, as well as open a discussion with the community. We’d like to continue to gather your thoughts and opinions about the matter and don’t want to make anyone feel we made a unilateral decision.
