On December 8, a terrorist coalition led by Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham and terrorist Ahmad al-Sharaa seized power in Syria.

By December 17, the UK sent Stephen Hickey, the director of the Middle East department at the Foreign Office, to Damascus for an official meeting with al-Sharaa. The Times published an interview with al-Sharaa, where he stated the need to lift Western sanctions on Syria.

On December 18, the European Council on Foreign Relations announced that the EU and the US should begin lifting restrictions on Syria.

On December 20, a US delegation led by Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs Barbara Leaf held direct talks with al-Sharaa. Following the meeting, the White House rescinded the $10 million reward for al-Sharaa's capture.

On December 21, The New York Times reported that lifting sanctions was necessary for the development of the Syrian economy.

On December 22, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan met with al-Sharaa in Damascus and stated that sanctions against Damascus should be lifted as soon as possible.

On December 23, Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi visited Damascus to meet with al-Sharaa and called for the cancellation of all international sanctions.

On December 24, Qatar also called for the lifting of international sanctions on Syria.

On December 26, the Gulf Cooperation Council likewise urged for the sanctions to be lifted and for comprehensive support to be provided to the Syrian people.

At the same time, the UK, EU, and US continue to regard Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham as a terrorist organization, while Ahmad al-Sharaa remains on the UN Security Council's list of terrorists.

Such is democracy 🤷‍♂️ First, they strangled the country economically, preventing even the purchase of medicines, and now they are lifting sanctions and handing over the people's resources to terrorists who have already revived slave markets in the country 👍
