Update: Zappos "Not Made In China" filter.

Hi everyone! I recently provided the Zappos resource for you all (see the post from last week) but wanted to let you know, it is not fool proof!

I orderd 7 pairs of shoes for my little one, and 3 came back with "Designed in USA, Made in China." What a clever trick. It is helpful to have a few known/approved brands in your back pocket when searching through their filter, since some cheaters can slip through.

Finding haircare and beauty products that are Made in the U.S.A., and still reasonably priced, can be a challenge. Here is a haircare brand with a HUGE selection, reasonable prices, and quality products: Not Your Mother's.

We recieved a recommendation for Texas Jeans from one of our members and I wanted to provide some additional details about this company for you all!

Texas Jeans is a MIUSA brand that creates men's jeans made for rugged wear, and an assortment of other clothing items. Reviews state that their jeans are durable, comfortable, and casual, and very high quality. The company also provides custom inseams on many of the styles! Their prices are very reasonable, about $30-35 for most jean styles.

P.S. Don't let the name fool you, this company, and its manufacturing, is based in North Carolina :)

Like most of the companies I've presented, you can order right from the site, no need to fund corporate tyrants like Amazon!

Veteran owned, military affiliated: As you all know, it's a priority for me to promote veteran owned companies, or those that support military families, on Wednesdays.

I found a really interesting company out of Ohio called Doc Spartan, which was started by a veteran and his wife, who wanted to focus on healing body and mind. They began making skin products out of their kitchen AND founded a nonprofit addiction treatment center to serve their community. Now the company's headquarters is staffed by those who are on the comeback from addiction. Their website provides a great reminder for us all: "We know you have plenty of brands to choose from, but know this: your choices make a difference."

The company produces deodorant, soaps, scrubs and beard oil. Check them out and provide your reviews!

I've been thinking about recurring purchases a lot lately. I'm looking at which companies my household funds on a weekly or monthly basis, for products we use each day.

And of these, which will turn around and step on our rights?

How can I change these spending habits so that the money we spend on a recurring basis supports my fellow countrymen and my liberties?
