— 🇷🇺/🇦🇫 NEW: The head of the Russian Business Center in Afghanistan, Rustam Khabibullin, told Sputnik News on Friday that the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan intends to sign a deal with Russia on the transit of 50 million cubic meters of liquefied natural gas (LNG) through its territory.
The deal is expected to be signed at the upcoming Economic Forum of Russia and the countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in Kazan.
Back in September, Afghanistan began working on its section of the long delayed TAPI pipeline from Turkmenistan. Which, if it is ever completed, can transfer 33 billion cubic meters of natural gas annually through the country.
