THE BED HELD YOUR GRIEF THROUGH ME.
I have brined silence until it begged for taste and knelt at the altar of hunger with nothing but my skin. The wood remembers every inch I have shed for you. I have hollowed each bone to hold you; I have tied each vein to keep you. Let the candles fall like guilt; let the knives catch the light of what we buried. The feast means nothing without a witness, and I have spread my skin in place of where the plates should be. All this blood, warm and willing, waits for nothing if not you.
