Someone claimed that Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, was a pacifist. When I rebuked him for his Masonic slander, he issued to me the following challenge:
“
@The Fascifist Oh really? And what physical means did he tell us to enact upon our enemies? What was the biggest call to violence or harm did he tell us to engage in?”
To this I responded with the following:
Davo Robinson
Well, I could tell you that he made a whip and drove out the money changers in the temple obviously. But that’s something obvious and you probably are already aware of that.
But in Matthew 23 he prophecies the holocaust of Jerusalem. Then repeats the warning to his disciples in Matthew 24. In 70 AD, at the siege of Jerusalem, Jesus Christ Holocausted millions of Jews in Judea. The Rabbis were so angry about this throughout history that they have since then had a blood thirsty desire for vengeance against all Christians.
But okay, maybe you’re a materialist, and this way of thinking is too “esoteric” for you.
Perhaps an instruction might be better. Jesus said that there are two important commandments on which the Law and the Prophets hinge on. To love God and to love ones neighbor. Let us look at the first of these two:
Mark 12:29-30 King James Version (KJV)
29 And Jesus answered him, “The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord:
30 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.”
Now you should know here that what our Lord is doing here is directly quoting from Deuteronomy 6:4-5
“Deuteronomy 6:4-5 King James Version (KJV)
4 Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord:
5 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.”
So now that it is clear that our Lord Jesus Christ is quoting Deuteronomy and that the commandment “Love the Lord your God” is one of the two commandments that ALL THE LAW (books of Moses) and the Prophets hinge upon, the obvious question is, what does it mean to love the Lord our God? It means many things, but it also includes the following:
Deuteronomy 13:1-15
1 "If there arises among you a prophet or a dreamer of dreams, and he gives you a sign or a wonder, 2 and the sign or the wonder comes to pass, of which he spoke to you, saying, 'Let us go after other gods'--which you have not known--'and let us serve them,' 3 you shall not listen to the words of that prophet or that dreamer of dreams, for the Lord your God is testing you to know whether you love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul. 4 You shall walk after the Lord your God and fear Him, and keep His commandments and obey His voice, and you shall serve Him and hold fast to Him. 5 But that prophet or that dreamer of dreams shall be put to death, because he has spoken in order to turn you away from the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt and redeemed you from the house of bondage, to entice you from the way in which the Lord your God commanded you to walk. So you shall put away the evil from your midst. 6 "If your brother, the son of your mother, your son or your daughter, the wife of your bosom, or your friend who is as your own soul, secretly entices you, saying, 'Let us go and serve other gods,' which you have not known, neither you nor your fathers, 7 of the gods of the people which are all around you, near to you or far off from you, from one end of the earth to the other end of the earth, 8 you shall not consent to him or listen to him, nor shall your eye pity him, nor shall you spare him or conceal him; 9 but you shall surely kill him; your hand shall be first against him to put him to death, and afterward the hand of all the people. 10 And you shall stone him with stones until he dies, because he sought to entice you away from the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage. 11 So all Israel shall hear and fear, and not again do such wickedness as this among you.
