According to a 2020 study, Sub-Saharan Africans derive up to 19% of their ancestry from an unknown, extinct hominid species that is not found in Eurasian populations.
The admixture event is theorized to have occurred 43,000 years ago, long after Eurasians had left Africa (as per the constantly-revised shambles that is Out of Africa theory). Europe was populated by Cro-Magnons at that point.
