Outrageous. To try and trick a jury into convicting Daniel Penny, New York's prosecutors are suggesting that he could get a very lenient sentence. In reality, he faces up to 15 years in prison, and once they have their guilty verdict in hand prosecutors can try to be as harsh as they like.

A longtime New York attorney tells me this behavior is "disgusting and overtly sleazy."
