She studied at SMP Ansan Byeolmang and School of Performing Arts Seoul. She can speak in Korean and Japanese. Entertainment in 2007. In December 2013, she was introduced to the community through the S.M. Pre-debut project. Entertainment, SM Rookies, along with her 𝐑𝐞𝐝 𝐕𝐞𝐥𝐯𝐞𝐭 Member, Irene and Wendy. She also appeared in a music video from the single "𝘍𝘢𝘯𝘵𝘢𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘤". Seul-gi made her official debut with Red Velvet on August 1, 2014 with a digital single " 𝘏𝘢𝘱𝘱𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘴". In January 2015, she starred in S.M. Entertainment School OZ, and play the main role of Dorothy. From April to May, she became part of the JTBC varieties off to school. In October, Seulgi appeared on the King of Mask Singer as the 𝗖𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗺𝗮 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁.
