See if s/he is worth it and they are the ones that you should invest time and energy on. 2024 ain't going to be a year we waste on someone that doesn't match our energy and aspirations.

Here's how much my GitHub accounts are worth based on my activities throughout the year 2023.

😾 The picture on the left is my personal GitHub account and it shows that much work is needed to be done when it comes to personal projects and open source contributions.

😺 The picture on the right shows how much is my work/company GitHub account is worth (and I tried to hide the username intentionally). This account may illustrate the fact that I have been grinding at my job despite being promoted to a Project Manager role and somehow getting a little bit busier with non-technical affairs of the company and the products we work on.

If you want to know the estimate worth of your account, you can generate it on https://github-worth.vercel.app/ by giving it your GitHub username.

You can follow my GitHub profile and stay tuned for more personal projects and open source repos I will be working on in 2024.

This is the only book that I recommend anyone I know to read and has significantly shaped my career development journey.

I will share the .epub and .pdf files here so you can read it and learn important lessons from Austin Kleon and his findings regarding the mater.

What better movie recommendation is there other than Why Him for a programmer that aspires to be wealthy af and it is already Christmas?

Watch Why Him this Christmas 🤞🏾

"And with that, the 2023 season comes to an end."

I had 3 major goals for the year. One of them was graduating with a great distinction from Addis Ababa University, and I was successful at achieving it. The other was to somehow strengthen my impact at my roles in my career. And for this, assuming Project Manager role at Kemer Habesha and managing the overall design, development, and deployment of our products would be a significant testimony for the achievement of this specific goal. Working on different products and expanding my experience to developing Software Development Kits were also the highlights of the year when it comes to career development and work. The last goal I set out to work on was helping others break into tech (especially younger kids) which I say I have failed to achieve for the most part. Meanwhile, I continued sharing content on my platforms that I have found to be helpful for anyone that is interested in learning to code or even get into iOS Development.

Unwrapping 2023 with Yohannes Haile:
The iOS Development memes on Twitter (X)
The #iOSDevHappyHour sessions
#MyLomi and the anticipated change of the dating scene LOL
The iPhone Purchase Fundraiser (#Jami)
Dr. Timnit Gebru read Yohannes Haile

Big thanks for everyone who has come this far with me. 🤍

This is not related to tech but it is my hot take on current social media space.

Today was such a productive day as I have continued learning SwiftUI from Sean Allen's course and also got started in learning the basics of Objective-C.

You may wonder why I started learning Objective-C at the end of 2023. While most companies had their transition from iOS Development in Objective-C to Swift, there are still bigger companies that need their legacy code written in Objective-C to be maintained and kept intact. Older companies had their development done with older tech and it is not as easy as we would think for them to fully transition and refactor everything.

Though I am not intending to be an Objective-C guru with this journey, I am hoping to get the basic understanding of it which will make me comfortable and stop me from freaking out if I see a legacy code written in Objective-C.

Here's my #GitHubUnwrapped in 2023:

With Gen Z's and Gen Alpha's early adoption of tech and the booming of content creation in Ethiopia, I see an endless possiblity for the growth in need of Native iOS Developers and vast market share of iOS itself.

To many more years of creating bugs on Xcode 🥂
