The Emperor Constantine is credited as making Christianity official. What most people don't know is that he also DEMANDED all ties to be severed with the Jews!
In reality Constantine was a worshipper of Mithra, a pagan sun-god. It has been said that while the Emperor was looking at the sun at sunrise, he saw the sign of the cross. First off, he wasn't just looking at the sun, he was worshipping the sun. He didn't see the sign of the cross, he experienced what everyone would experience while staring at the sun, strange visual light deflections. Supposedly he heard a voice that told him "In this sign you shall conquer".
Well Yeshua never sent his talmidim to conquer anything with a sword. He was a Rabbi, an observant Jew who kept the Jewish holidays perfectly as clerly recorded by Matthew, Mark, Luke and Yochanan (John).
So in 325, Constantine supposedly converts to "Christianity" (which he basically created), convened the Council of Nicaea, which formally disengaged the Church from the Hebrew calendar and separated the Easter holiday from Passover. “[I]t appeared an unworthy thing,” Constantine declared in a letter to the churches summarizing the Council, “that in the celebration of this most holy feast we should follow the practice of the Jews, who have impiously defiled their hands with enormous sin . . . Let us then have nothing in common with the detestable Jewish crowd . . .”
Constantine basically "Christianized" the worship of Mithra. SUNday (the day dedicated to the worship of the sun) replaced the Jewish observance of the SHABBAT, an institution in Judaism. Up until them there is no record of Christians meeting on SUNday at "churches". There was no such thing. Rather, there were communities that resembled much more Jewish synagogues.
Later Church councils would prohibit Christians from celebrating Passover with Jews and from receiving holiday gifts from them.
“According to the Holy See, the persecution of Jews by the Roman Empire had nothing to do with Constantine and his conversion. The persecutions took place after the fourth century. . . . But the Chief Rabbi of Rome, Riccardo Di Segni, disagrees. ‘The conversion of Constantine changed everything.'” —Giacomo Galeazzi (April 18, 2012) in La Stampa
