17:00 the outflow of water from reservoir stopped. Next phase of liquidation of the consequences of this emergency began. Shore protection work continues at the dam break site.
In the first minutes of an emergency, about
70 thousand people living in the vicinity of the Sardoba reservoir were quickly evacuated to safe areas and placed in specially equipped places in the
Syrdarya and Jizzakh regions.Additional reserve places are being prepared in case of need, another thousand people will be accommodated.
56 people were hospitalized with various injuries. A total of 17 thousand 300 people underwent a medical examination.
