▫️January is Human Trafficking Awareness Month: Midland Rape Crisis, Children’s Advocacy Center hosts community events to raise awareness
The Midland Rape Crisis and Children’s Advocacy Center, in partnership with Harmony Home and Voice of Hope, has announced a series of events throughout January in honor of Human Trafficking Awareness Month. These events are aimed at raising awareness, fostering community support, and encouraging action to combat human trafficking in the Permian Basin.
One of the key events in this effort is the Blue Sand Event, which will take place at 2 p.m. Jan. 7 at Ovintiv, 10200 Younger Road, Midland. The Blue Sand Event is designed to shed light on the critical issue of human trafficking and honor the countless victims affected by it.

▫️Toppenish community invited to human trafficking awareness presentation Jan. 10
TOPPENISH, Wash. – Yakama Nation Behavioral Health Services is hosting a session on human trafficking awareness on Fri., Jan 10 in Toppenish.
The presentation will feature a special guest speaker, lunch, a raffle and other activities. The event starts at noon with the presentation, followed by a Q&A session at 1 p.m. The presentation will take place at the Yakama Nation Sacred Healing Home, located at 401 Fort Rd.
Those unable to make it in person can attend via Zoom call with meeting ID 822 3906 4780 and passcode 910796.
