NEW: Empire State Building climbers Ivan Kuznetsov and Angelina Nikolau return to court in Manhattan courtroom their viral engagement stunt more than 1,300 feet above the city lands them in serious legal trouble.

Prosecutors allege the couple broke a lock on a 104th-floor security door, entered restricted areas, and climbed all the way to the building’s broadcasting antenna on July 1.

Now they’re facing charges including reckless endangerment, burglary and criminal mischief. Their attorney is pushing back, arguing the case is overcharged and that the stunt never put building occupants or visitors at risk.
