Sparkle Search is a web search engine developed by Huawei. Sparkle Sead is an online advertising platform for the sponsored search market, which is also developed by Huawei. In sponsored search, ad retrieval and CTR estimation are two main data-driven functional modules. They are important for displaying proper ads to proper users, which determines the revenue of the advertising platform. This job mainly focus on ad retrieval.

Responsibilities:
🔴 Develop query rewriting algorithms to match queries with related keywords.

SEAD Algorithm Engineer

About the project
Advertising media include Huawei's own media and third-party media. Huawei own media include HUAWEI Assistant, HUAWEI Browser, HUAWEI Video, HUAWEI Music, and HUAWEI Reader. The third-party media in China are mainly game applications. The traffic is generated by these game applications installed on Huawei phones. The purposes of advertisement promotion include app download, advertisement clicking, and questionnaire survey.
In RTB advertisement, DSP (demand side engine) is the core function component. DSP includes three main functional modules: advertising retrieval, CTR estimation, and bidding sorting. In this project, we mainly focus on ad CTR/CVR estimation. The service-oriented object is the DSP engine of Huawei ad platform.

Responsibilities:
🔴 For CPC and CPD ads, perform ad CTR estimation modeling based on offline evaluation indicators such as AUC, logloss, and COPC, to improve the ad click-through rate and ECPM of the ad platform.
🔴 For OCCP ads, perform CVR estimation modeling based on offline evaluation indicators such as AUC and logloss, to improve the backward conversion rate of ads, including activation, registration, order placement, and HTML5 ad form submission.

Requirements:

✅ Experience of standard algorithms and ML frameworks such as: ARIMA, LSTM, SVM, LOF, Scikit-Learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras, NumPy, PyFlux, XGBoost, ML Kit, Apache Spark Mlib. Plus the experience with Stanford’s CoreNLP, NLTK.
✅ Big plus: Yandex Data Analysys School, achievements at Kaggle and other competitions in the field of ML/mathematics/informatics, availability of relevant scientific publications, presentations at industry conferences.
✅ English, sufficient for oral and written communication with foreign colleagues (preferably Upper-Intermediate or above).
