So many things in our life are overrated. For example, let's take feelings.
"If you told someone 100 years ago you were feeling depressed, you would probably be laughed off and sent to work. No one puts that much emphasis on how one feels.
Now, it's all about you got this, everyone is special, dream big, and other cliche quotes.
So why are all mental health problems on the rise? well, there could be many reasons, but if you ask me?
I’d say social media, or the phones overall.
In fact, with the introduction of social media, depression rates in teenage girls went up by almost 200% and these rates are not dropping by any means.
Everybody is a victim
People either think they are the smartest, the prettiest, and the most creative, or they play the victim, trying to feel special, striving for attention, and waiting for someone to save them.
Now, let me tell you the ugly truth I got smashed with. Of course, I tried being sad and insecure.
I will tell you a secret. Nobody cares about your depression, PTSD, OCD, and every other disorder.
Even if they look like they do, they are usually trying to get praised, or paid, if you visit a therapist. This human self-centeredness kept us alive during harsh times.
Every person cares mostly about himself.
The quote: “it may not be your fault, but it is your problem”, hits hard.
Waiting for someone to fix my problem is completely stupid and naive. We have to finally take responsibility for our actions instead of blaming everything and everyone else."
