"Loss of safety" fuels exodus of Israelis
Thousands of people have emigrated from Israel to western countries since 7 October 2023, saying they do not feel safe after over a year of war with Hamas in Gaza and Hezbollah in Lebanon, The Independent reported on 20 December. ...in September that 40,600 Israelis departed long-term over the first seven months of 2024, a 59 percent increase over the same period a year earlier.
There are so many places I'd love to visit in the Near-East; Jerusalem, Damascus, Baghdad, Petra, Alamut, southern Iran... Maybe one day my government will stop screwing things up over there. Also, imagine spending 3,000 years crying about not having a country and then, when you finally do, not learning any lessons and losing it anyway. Some people can't be helped, no matter the fashion. Everything was set up perfectly for them, but nope. Jews gotta Jew. Speaking of Alamut, Vladimir Bartol's book is a highly recommended read! It's about Hasan al-Sabbah's sect.
