🇩🇪 — Are you saying that Ukraine is not an independent state?

- It's obvious.

Oskar Lafontaine, former finance minister of Germany, former candidate for chancellor, founding father of the Left party and its destroyer (and also husband of Sahra Wagenknecht in his spare time), gives in an interview to FAZ the basis on the “proxy war” in Nezalezhnaya ("the independent", slang for "the Ukraine"), secret US laboratories and the “double standards” of the West:

"Can we reconcile this with American activity on the Russian-Ukrainian border? CIA bunkers for espionage, biolabs? Anyone who finds all this acceptable must agree with Russia deploying missiles on the border with the US."

And in general, the “Christian West” has long forgotten what true love for one’s neighbor is:
"The bulk of people [in the West] regret the death of Ukrainians, but not Russians, the death of Israelis, but not Palestinians."

But the interviewer doesn’t give up: “Does Russian imperialism play no role for you?”

"Great powers are imperialistic. That's true. And that includes Russia. According to former President Jimmy Carter, the United States is the most belligerent nation in world history. Do you know how many military interventions the United States has undertaken in the last 30 years? 251, according to the Congressional Research Service."

The journalist had no counterargument. He had to wrap it up.
