▫️Assam Police Busts Human Trafficking Ring, Two Minors Rescued from Arunachal
TINSUKIA: In a significant breakthrough against human trafficking, the Assam Police have dismantled a notorious trafficking ring operating in Tinsukia’s Guijan. The operation, which spanned multiple regions including Duliajan, Jonai, Majuli, Banderdewa, and Tinsukia, led to the arrest of nine individuals, including the suspected mastermind.
Rijumoni Tai, identified as the leader of the trafficking network, is accused of orchestrating the abduction of two minor girls, aged 9 and 13, from Guijan. The girls were reportedly trafficked for Rs 2 lakh after being abducted on their way home from school on December 26.

▫️Convergence meeting on Operation Smile-XI held in Cyberabad
Hyderabad: The Women and Children Safety Wing (W&CSW) along with Anti-Human Trafficking (AHTU) here on Monday conducted Operation Smile-XI convergence meeting at Cyberabad Commissioner of Police office here. The meeting was conducted to review the functioning of operation, which was formed to trace missing children and rescue those seeking alms and indulging in rag-picking, child labour, trafficking children and bonded labour, among others.
The Cyberabad police are launching the operation from January 1 to January 31 to rescue and rehabilitate homeless children and those forced into child labour and identifying children seeking alms and indulging in rag-picking.

▫️GRP arrested 35 human traffickers in Tripura in 5 months
Agartala: The Government Railway Police (GRP) arrested 35 human traffickers in the last five months in Tripura for facilitating illegal entry of Bangladeshi nationals and Rohingyas into India, officials said on Monday.
An official said that the 35 human traffickers, all Indians, were arrested by the GRP from different places in Tripura in the past five months.
