▫️SA faces rising crisis of missing children, linked to human trafficking
South Africa (SA) is grappling with a sharp rise in missing children, with police statistics revealing that a child goes missing every five hours.
Police figures indicate that out of the 348 children who were reported missing from September 2023 to February 2024, only 207 were found, while 141 are missing.
Experts warn this alarming trend is increasingly linked to human trafficking, with organised criminal networks exploiting vulnerable children for various illicit activities, including forced labour and sexual exploitation.
Bryon Mann, from the organisation Brave To Love, highlighted the severity of the issue in an interview on Monday with Channel Africa’s Peter Ndoro.

On Monday, Sahar El-Senbaty, head of the National Council for Childhood and Motherhood in Egypt, referred the case to the Child Protection Office affiliated with the Office of the Attorney General, to hold those involved accountable.
