Arrest made after missing 14-year-old Long Island girl rescued from a boat
Suffolk County cops arrested a 65-year-old man in the mysterious case of a 14-year-old girl who, her dad says, was sex-trafficked after she disappeared from home nearly a month ago.
The arrest in the case of Emmarae Gervasi comes just days after the girl was found alone on a boat docked in Islip — with few clues as to how she got there. Mr Gervasi said: “Emma was being held against her will. She was not allowed to leave the boat unless she was escorted by somebody,.
Frank Gervasi, the teen’s father, identified the suspect as Francis Buckheit, 65, of Islip in a Facebook post on Monday.

▫️San Diego Border Patrol agents locate missing child in alleged abduction case
CAMPO, Calif. — Border Patrol agents with the San Diego Sector stopped a driver last Wednesday who had an active warrant issued by Texas law enforcement and was wanted for an alleged child abduction, authorities said Monday.
Last Wednesday, around 9 a.m., agents assigned to the Campo Station stopped an SUV traveling west on Interstate 8 near Buckman Springs Road while they were out on patrol.
The driver, a 36-year-old woman, was accompanied by another adult female and a 6-year-old girl, CBP said. The agents confirmed the occupants’ identities through law enforcement databases and learned the driver had an active warrant for interference with child custody involving the 6-year-old in the SUV. ▫️2 suspects arrested for human trafficking minors under 16 (UPDATE)
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — State Rep. Marian Matthews said that people don’t believe human trafficking is happening in New Mexico.
“I’ve had people say, ‘Well, that’s not really happening, is it?’ And it is,” she said. But there is a viral video, from the corner of Rhode Island and Central, proving it does. The video shows three girls, with barely any clothes, appear to be soliciting sex from drivers.
“One of the changes we’re making is removing the statute of limitations,” Matthews explained. “If you’re charged with the human trafficking, the statute of limitations is never going to run (out). You can be charged at any time.”
One of them, a 14 year old, later told police she was forced to do it by Roderick Norseweather. Albuquerque police officers arrested him and Tajahnae Johnson for human trafficking Friday. The girl allegedly told police she was threatened and forced to give the money she made to Norseweather.
